The classic chinoiserie design gets a thoroughly modern update in this dramatic new scenic print. The hand of the artist is evident here in the graphic, sketch-like drawings of fanciful figures, pagodas, and palm trees. The grand, full-width repeat of Summer Palace gives it the look of a modern mural, in contemporary shades of indigo, charcoal, and soft sky blue. A coordinating 54” wallpaper of the same scale complements each fabric.

Eastern Palace By Sam Wilde - The Japanese word fuubutsushi marks the anticipation we feel for the changing seasons. It’s the understanding that each precious moment in our lives is fleeting and each of these changes will bring with them a new season. With a passion for the natural history and cultural heritage of Japan Sam’s artwork chronologies the country’s four main islands subsequently represented by the four seasons. Each island houses ancient shinto shrines temples and monuments beside which sits a rich tapestry of endemic seasonal flora and topiary. Lastly beneath the islands lay sleeping giant kami represented by the animals only found in Japan the elusive giant catfish giant salamander samurai crab and stone turtle.

With impeccable attention to intricate details, Palace Damask is inspired by the handmade Venetian velvets created with hand-applied wooden printing blocks by ancient textile techniques in small workshops made famous by houses like Fortuny and Luigi Bevilacqua. Our inspiration comes from ancient Italian works of art, the rich cultural heritage of Renaissance Venice, the historical Venetian velvet arts, sumptuous patterned velvets, brocades. Damasks adorn the walls of the city's grandest palaces and richest churches, covered tables, and upholstered furniture. Palace Damask starts with true historical reference, pays homage and tribute to its origins, and to collectors who know the original work and then embarks on an artistic license, contemporary interpretation, and re-Imagineering. Pine gray is a wallpaper depicting branches of pine in white on a grey background. In Japan, the pine symbolizes long life, honor, and youth. This large pillow is absolutely gorgeous - the print is just beautiful and the colors are rich and vibrant. I knew it would be perfect in our living room, but hesitated for weeks before ordering because of the price, which is pretty hefty for a pillow with no embroidery, texture, fancy edging, etc. Now that I have lived with the one pillow for a couple of days, however, I can't stop looking at it and so am biting the bullet and ordering a second one. The Milanese Armor that inspired our Milan Diamond Grasscloth and Appliqué Tape is a unique example of Italian armor made with German influences. Created around 1510, this rare example with fluted surfaces in German fashion is etched with Christian symbolism and references to the Bible, including images of the Virgin and Child and saints Paul and George as well as Latin inscriptions. The armor is adorned with richly gilt ornamentation that we’ve emulated in our products, which will add charm to any room they’re featured in. This wallcovering is made of laser-cut metallic cork appliquéd on grasscloth. The mix of materials in this textile creates an interesting texture that is both eye-catching and understated. Toile de Jouy, is mostly seen in classic homes and Moa fits just as beautifully in the modern home's nursery or living room. Exotic monkeys swinging between the palm trees are accompanied by turtles, peacocks, and beautiful flowers. Palampores, or "Tree of Life" patterns, have their origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand painted and mordant dyed, and exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Pondicherry, now offered as a wallcovering, the colorways remain true to their 90's origins, highlighting the iconic filigree pattern amidst the exotic tree of life motif. The colorways were developed in 2015, with the filigree omitted from the fabric design. These wallcoverings and colorways remain true to the fabric's original design. Intricately detailed flowers and lush foliage accompanied by whimsical birds and playful squirrels add to its timeless appeal. Originally designed in the 1940s for Gino of Capri restaurant, Scalamandré restored the Zebras wallcovering in this Upper East Side institution in the 1970s after it was destroyed in a fire. Zebras wallcovering features an animated sketch of two Zebras prancing around politely placed arrows on top of a lively colored wallpaper.
