This stool is cut from a responsibly harvested chamcha tree trunk. Chamcha is an acacia species native to Thailand. We love the visible wood grains, even after we treat them to create this stone-like patina. The freeform line of the trunk remains intact, preserving the natural integrity of this piece. This is what modern organic looks like.

We at Phillips Collection are known for our furnishings in personable wood that we responsibly source from the jungles of Asia. The Origins Accent Stool has a seat we’ve rescued from being one of nature’s finest castaways by making it into an elemental design statement. Several design distinctions of note on this wood and metal stool are the natural graining on the surface of the seat and how perfectly the slice of wood is cradled by the frame. The stool reflects the ethos that Phillips Collection personifies: modern organic.

Perfect! Size is right, product is exactly as described, best price of all other pieces that I considered and the quality is excellent. Weighty, sturdy mahogany frame, extraordinarily easy to assemble. Leather top gives it a classy, expensive look, and will wear much better than a fabric seat. I'm a happy camper.. Carol. Mahwah, NJ. Contrast your modern ensemble with this rustic accent stool. Crafted from solid acacia wood, this stool resembles a chopped tree trunk – because it is one! Every stool is as unique as the tree it came from, with natural knots, cracks, and wood grain patterns adding an organic feel to your space. Its drum shape measures 16.5'' high, an ideal height for an ottoman in your office or living room. Plus, it has a weight capacity of 330 lbs., so it doubles as extra seating for guests. Our favorite? It works just as well as an end table next to your low-profile armchair or sofa. Just take it out of the box and place it anywhere.
