Bahari South Seas Shell Cast Stone Pot Planter provide timeless beauty to your garden or landscape. They suggest that birdbath/fountain tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath/fountain bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised up off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to ensure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

Based on the popularity of our Meteor Bowls, we have created new sizes and a new color. The original of this grand statement piece was created by a Portuguese artist whose work first caught our designers' eyes at an art fair in Portugal. It took years of collaboration to arrive at this design that can be consistently produced. Multiple pieces are cast, bound together, and fired. Then it receives a reactive glaze and is fired a second time. There is a tremendous amount of artisan work that goes into every piece. Entire rooms could be designed around this beautiful and functional sculpture.

Love the pot. Just as pictured - actually even better than the photo because of the texture. But the packaging was a disappointment. Nothing was broken - but the shipper used old fashioned styrofoam that breaks up and floats everywhere. There are new kinds of peanuts and other packing materials that are biodegradable and earth friendly. For a company that's proactive in pricing (high price points and quality), I expected better. Great looking piece and it casts a wonderful shadow in the sunlight with the pointed shells creating a spiked texture. I was very pleased to find such a perfect vase covered in Sea shells to go in the window facing the water in my dining room. The only thing that prevented me from a 5star rating is that the shells have a tendency to fall out when it’s picked up for dusting and the base isn’t very flat and leans a bit. Simply add a little decorative moss and you have the perfect centerpiece. Planter has solid brass raised feet for that finishing touch.

We also suggest using the planter for fresh flowers as it holds water; or for entertaining as a wine bucket. Simply line the bottom with a towel or bubble wrap for protection, then add ice. Mother of pearl is uniquely shaped in hot glass and the color is poured into the scoop. The pattern is created individually by the mold. The crystal-clear pearl is hand-sculpted and the pieces are joined with heat in the hot shop at Kosta Glassworks.
