They are made from mangosteen, a tree famed for its nutritious fruit for a number of years, and then are burned down to make room for new trees. To prevent those resources from being wasted, Thai artisans have reclaimed the felled trunks, and trimmed, sanded and stained them to form these handsome coat stands. Because they are made from actual tree trunks, each one is unique, size and color will vary, but it will bring raw, organic beauty to the room. I love this coat rack, it looks really cool, but there are some issues. Mine came with spots of corrosion at the corners like it was stored somewhere humid and the powder coating on the iron wasn’t thoroughly done. There are also only four holes to anchor it to the wall and they’re not in a square or rectangle so it’s easy to drill in your wall anchors and then realize you messed up and they are not lined up correctly and there’s not a good way to fix it because you can’t use another hole and try again. I had the shorter Enclume tower but ran out of room. This one is perfect to hold all of my cast iron that is waiting to be seasoned. Will look even better with my copper cookware.
