I had high hopes for this as I loved the composition and wanted some color in the hallway. Unfortunately, the print could have been better. This was partly my fault as the original piece is a collage with a combination of encaustic and cut up newspapers which in person would have great depth and luminosity. The print however flattens everything out and loses that quality, which I should have known it would. In addition, the piece has been reduced from it's original size, which is evident when looking at the newspaper clippings. This design is an embodiment of all the lessons that have been learned from designing and building thousands of lights. This fixture balances utility and sophisticated beauty well. The walnut, brass, and leather work in concert to compose a modern form with materials that have been used for thousands of years.
