Bloom is a new timeless contemporary floral. Magnolia blossoms, thick and lush, set in a multilayered textural and layered background. A sophisticated floral for the most discriminating interior designers in the world. Symbolizing Yin, or the feminine side of life, magnolias have an essential purity and dignity. Strong yet frail, they are deceptive, seductive, and heady with fragrance. Bloom uses a delicate tree branch motif with fully open flowers to buds, for a neutral but intriguing effect. Colors include porcelain blue, wheat, a dove gray, brick red, and a turquoise blue gray. Like the Blossom Fantasia pattern, Bloom is bold yet refined, with aging that gives dimension and almost completely hides the seams.

Topkapi Palace, Iznik style pottery, and the beautiful carpets in Palaces old and new, we tried to dream and reimagine an ideal Ottoman-inspired new kind of chic. Colors that are fresh and modern, blended with themes that date back hundreds of years, Topkapi Garden includes sumptuous velvets and Belgian linens, with metallic grasscloth wallpapers and wall panels. Wall panels that are uniquely designed to be cuttable at popular and 9', 10' and 12' wall heights, solving many typical issues designers have. Topkapi Garden is a pattern inspired by the Iznik tiled wall mural at the Topkapi Palace, in Istambul, Turkey. A garden of cypress trees, tall as minarets and underplanted with hyacinth bells, has been immortalized on tiles in an alcove in the harem, once the most private – and forbidden – part of the palace.

Royal Delft Flora & Fauna is inspired by the iconic Dutch tulips associated with stately Royal Delft Tulipieres. Tulips were in cultivation since the 13th century, but only really became a passion of collectors among aristocrats in the 1600s’ when Turkish traders introduced them to the Dutch. The tulip craze in the 17th century became so fevered that the bulbs were traded as currency, and theft of the flowers triggered harsh penalties. Mixed with simple wildflowers and scattered in all directions, Flora & Fauna is considered a symbol of happiness and joie de vivre! Flora & Fauna pays homage to artist Vittorio Accornero, whose ‘Giardini di seta’ works for Gucci inspired a generation.

Inspired by traditional arabesque pomegranate patterns used in Turkish tiles, Byzantine is a floral Ornamental pattern that evokes tulips, pomegranates, and ribbons- themes used commonly throughout history in Ottoman decorative arts such as tile work, and Iznik ceramics.

Colorpop is very much an abstract midcentury modern pattern that embraces today’s most timely trends toward muted, earthy color–gray blended with warm colors, and a rise in colors that are associated with optimism, like rich inviting yellows and oranges, cool blues, pinks, and beiges. Colorpop’s Mod vibe mixes the French early 60’s mod of Courregges, psychedelic foil 60’s wallpapers, vibrant color pale, and midcentury influences.

Royal Delft Heritage is a tossed floral pattern that we designed, inspired by many of the signature elements of Royal Delft’s master painting techniques: leaves, chrysanthemums, and branches. These small elements together work as an all-over floral in crisp blue and white in a manner that is timeless and a reminder of how brief life can be. Scattered in all directions, the symbolic chrysanthemums have a provenance originally cultivated in China. The chrysanthemums made their way to Japan by Buddhist monks in 400AD. Soon after their introduction, the Japanese were so enamored with the beautiful flowers that they were soon adopted as the Emperor’s crest and official seal. ‘Kiku’ is the Japanese word for chrysanthemum, and every year there is a National Chrysanthemum Day, which is referred to as ‘the festival of happiness.’ the chrysanthemum, as painted by Royal Delft master artists in Delft blue, is known as a symbol of peace and tranquility.

Passion is inspired by France, by the opulence of Walls of Roses a la Dior Paris 2012, the joy and opulence of weddings (including our own in January 2015) where our friend, owner of Passion Growers, delivered 3500 opulent roses that took over our house with astounding color and lush fragrance. Inspiration includes how modern and rococo mix, modern art installations in guilt ballrooms such as the hall of mirrors at Versailles. The juxtaposition of modern and classic, exuberance and constraint. Colors and color names are inspired by Laduree macarons, in modern French colors in acidy tones that are powdery and refined for a worldwide market.

The provenance of Royal Delft “William & Mary” is the commission in the 1600s of thematic tile plaques (manufactured in Delft) based on a design by Daniel Marot, who worked as a principal designer to William of Orange and also worked at William and Mary’s court in England and who may have played a pivotal role in furnishing and decorating the Water Gallery at Hampton court palace. A blue Delft vase is within a three-lobed ornament or trefoil surrounded by a cartouche with large curling acanthus leaves and flowers. Filled with diamond ornament on either side of the trefoil, a bird sits on the cartouche. Delft tiles were often used to seal damp walls from moisture and as Stadholder of Holland and King of England, William III decided to tile the walls on the Thames-side rooms to keep out the dampness with exceptionally beautiful glazed tiles. The project was never completed, as Mary died in 1694, and the rooms were demolished as early as 1700. The plaques sold piece by piece and disappeared, only resurfacing in 1923 when an art dealer put ten for sale. They are now housed at various museums, including the Metropolitan Museum, Rijksmuseum, Default, Cophenhagen, and Sevres. With reverence for the originals and equal parts artistic license, we carefully resorted their beauty on a new medium.

The Royal Dutch Delftware factory, “De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles/Royal Delft” was established in 1653, at the beginning of the Delft movement, creating unique blue and white ceramics and is the last remaining original Delftware factory. The world-renowned Royal Delftware is still entirely hand-painted according to a centuries-old tradition, and as such, the brand has created certain iconic pieces that are recognized world-over by collections. The inspiration for ‘Collections’ is the Royal Delft collectors themselves—their passion, obsession, love—we hope as they add pieces, to eventually assemble a complete collection of beloved Royal Delft. They will reference this pattern as their map. Inspired by the uniqueness of each piece, Royal Delft Collections is an assemblage pattern of key pieces of the Delft blue and white plates, wall plaques, vases, and other key pieces of the original blue collection.

Inspired by Ottoman Palaces, for the 2019 Kips Bay Showhouse in Palm Beach, in an entry and living room designed by Cindy Rinfret, we created multiple additional thematic patterns that can inspire designers to mix, match and customize with Iznik Overdye, Byzantine, and our signature single mural, Topkapi Garden, with multiple cuttable borders and a base that coordinates to Iznik Overdye. Each new pattern affords complexity, subtlety, and timeless elegance.

Royal Delft Imperial is inspired by the stately Royal Delft plaque collections lining dining walls, staircases, hallways, and home entries which passionate collectors placed in formation on the walls of grand houses, palaces, and refined apartments, showcasing their curating skill and porcelain love! Among aristocrats from the 1600’s onward, the blue and white craze in the 17th century became fevered. The passion for Delftware is still a passion among collectors. Royal Delft Imperial pays homage to this tradition, as it places a signature plaque information between a modern damask stripe that is a stand-alone wallpaper, or a canvas for a plaque and plate collection. On the banks of the Mae Ping River, in Chiang Mai, a world of adventure and discovery was mine. In an ancient temple and local artisan villages, I found a tile fragment that I fell in love with. An important symbol in both Jainism and Buddhism, the Infinity Knot within the pattern Chiang Mai, symbolizes that there is no beginning and no end, a bold mid-century retro symbol that is hip and yet timeless.

Royal Delft Masters is inspired by the work of one of Royal Delft’s master artists, with beautiful flowers, leaves, blossoms, and other Royal Delft elements floating in an ephemeral, peaceful space. This particular ‘hand’ is by a master artist who painted the original artwork entirely by hand in black on white paper, which was then reinterpreted by our own artists, with the aspects combined and colored and put into repeat as an incredible wallpaper pattern. The training required to become a Royal Delft master painter, according to a centuries-old tradition, lasts about one year. After four or five years, he or she will have mastered all of the various Delft blue techniques. The total training to become a master painter takes about ten years. The master painters paint custom-made orders and the more complicated decoration techniques, such as this one. It is a dream to work together with the artists at Royal Delft to bring the iconic looks made famous over 400 years of porcelain creation to new categories of wallpaper and fabric.

Masterpieces Tulip is a pattern featuring the rarest, most prized Royal Delft blue and white pieces. Entirely hand-painted in Holland in the same workshop since the 17th century the ‘Tulipiere’ pyramid vases consist of stacks of ever-smaller elements where flowers can be put in each opening. The imposing flower pyramids are made to follow the late 17th-century royal pyramids with royal allure.
