I have several of these cocktail napkin holders. They are well made, perfect for indoor or outdoor entertaining because the napkins never blow away. The olive branch design is very pretty and looks nice with white or black napkins and any house decor. It easily lifts up when you want to retrieve a napkin. The Orchid collection illuminates the ethereal spirit of the orchid flower. Evocative of purity, delicacy, femininity, and grace, the white metal version offers a strikingly different appeal than its black counterpart. While the sculpture is just as exuberant and detailed, in white, these flowers take on a unique simplicity. There is a sense of lightness, freshness, and even innocence - each petal seemingly untouched and pure. Orchids naturally emit a sense of sensuality and seductiveness, but in white nickel, it take on a completely different meaning - an element of brightness that I associate with new beginnings. When I think of white orchids, I imagine the purity and sweetness of a newborn child or a newlywed couple at the beginning of their lifelong journey.

Our fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree that grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. The Golden Ginkgo collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world. By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Aram presents work that is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined. "These pieces have wonderfully undulating leaves, which create an almost rococo surface of playful, delicate, and intricate forms. By combining the individually sculpted leaves, the natural forms join to create a complex pattern. I've tried to capture that sense of movement and fragility in metal."

The Michael Aram Pomegranate collection takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union. I grew up around pomegranates - from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of fresh-squeezed pomegranate juice. The color, the smell, and the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me.
