The legend goes that Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, was born while his father was fighting against the Asuras or devils. When he returned from war, Ganesha did not recognize him and a fight broke out between the two in which Shiva beheaded his son. Shiva went down to earth with the promise of giving his son the head of another being and it turned out to be an elephant. Believed to be the eliminator of obstacles, Lord Ganesha transcends its huge importance in the Hindu culture and becomes a universal symbol of wisdom. Lladró's artists have recreated the Hindu god of wisdom and knowledge in a winning combination of matte porcelain with enamels, golden luster in various different parts of the piece plus metallic effects paying tribute to the wealth of its iconography. Particularly outstanding is the highly elaborate ornamentation, which features an exquisite filigree work enriching every detail of the piece, including an elaborate garland of over 206 delicate flowers, one of the brand's signature elements.

The love between Radha and Krishna has given rise to some wonderful fables and their story is an important part of major Hindu celebrations like Jhulan Yatra, the festival of swings. After the summer heat, when the clouds float high in the sky, the Brajwasi celebrate the arrival of the first rains. With the onset of monsoon season, ponds and lakes fill with rainwater, lotus flowers blossom, the air is scented with a pleasant fragrance, and the forests of Vrindavan are decorated with wonderful Jhula, like the one on which Radha and Krishna swing in this high porcelain creation. Following tradition, the swing is finely decorated with many flowers which, like the garland worn by Krishna, have all been handmade one by one, with over 200 petals. The costumes worn by Radha and Krishna signify their spiritual importance and Lladro artists have recreated them in minute detail. Two beautiful young women are rushing headlong into the night with their evening dresses billowing voluptuously around them. It is the coloring of the dresses that tells us where the two mysterious ladies are headed. As they advance the blue turns darker, so much so that in the end it is almost black.

The figurine is representing a large size medieval Palfrey horse. In the middle ages, Palfrey was the name given to tamed or saddle horses used by ladies, and on some occasions also by kings and princes to make their grand entrances into towns and cities. Worth highlighting are the golden arabesques in the decoration of the blanket.
