As a young adult, she went to art school and instantly knew she wanted to make this her life’s work. She is taking a break from her travels and learning to live in the city and find inspiration through her current surroundings. Ann was born in Enid, Oklahoma, and educated at the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Interior Design. She moved to San Diego in 1984, where she lives today with her husband and three children. While her artistic impression was constant throughout her life, her recent foray into the art world was developed over the past 15 years working as a volunteer art teacher for school children at the elementary level. During this time she also worked as the prop, costume, and backdrop designer for the elementary school’s performances and directed the art and talent shows for many years. Now coming full circle, Ann is once again involved in instructing new and aspiring artists on her painting methods. Artist Tommy Kwak’s work explores the transience of landscapes and natural forms through ethereal large-format color photographs. His work has been shown in New York City and Iceland. He earned a BFA in graphic design from California College of the Arts in 2002 and completed photography courses at the International Center of Photography from 2006 to 2008. In 2010 and 2016, Tommy participated in the SIM Residency program in Reykjavik, Iceland, as well as the international arts festival, Villa Reykjavik. Tommy grew up outside of Chicago, lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY for 13 years, and now resides in Montclair, NJ.
