Creating a sculpture from an innovative material that looks like an artifact is no small feat. Making it so interesting that it will look just as smashing in a contemporary home as it will in a traditional one is even more of a challenge. The fact that we’ve lived up to both is why we say that the ethos of the Phillips collection brand is modern and organic. Made of composite in a charcoal stone finish, the colossal charcoal stone C cast stone sculpture will convincingly declare you’ve snapped it up from an archaeological dig and placed it in that perfect spot to make a statement. We offer a number of sculptures and seats in our Formations collection, each of which is weather-worthy for placing out of doors.

Robust yet delicately constructed, our iron Icarus winged sculpture sits on a block of white marble.

Ptychopariida is a large, heterogeneous order of trilobite containing some of the most primitive species known. The earliest species occurred in the second half of the Lower Cambrian period. Trilobites have facial sutures that run along the margin of the glabella and/or fixigena to the shoulder point where the cephalon meets the thorax. These sutures outline the cranidium or the main, central part of the head that does not include the librigena (free cheeks).

Two orthoceras fossils were found in a sea-bed matrix. Orthoceras ("straight horn") had a slender, elongated shell, with the middle of the body chamber transversely constricted, and a subcentral orthochoanitic siphuncle. The surface is ornamented by a network of fine lirae. 250 to 750 million years ago, the orthoceras mollusk lived in abundance during the Paleozoic Era. Orthoceras is a member of the class Cephalopoda and is closely related to the extinct giant Cephalopod and present-day chambered nautilus.

Trilobites, an early arthropod relative of spiders, horseshoe crabs, and scorpions, preserved in this level of detail only occurred as a result of very sudden underwater landslides called turbidite sequences, which ravaged the early earth when the continents were still very much on the move. The contorted body positions of the trilobites demonstrate a final fight against being buried alive. This is an extremely ornamented member of the trilobites' extremely well-known and globally distributed Lichid family. These trilobites have adapted for extreme defensiveness. Their long genal appendages afford them controlled escape from the water column, and they used them to sink to the ocean floor mimicking falling debris to escape predators. The stalked eyes, which evolved several separate times in the trilobite lineage, afforded greater lookout ability through they still maintain their compound lenses.

A modern interpretation of a classic starburst sculpture with a nod to the organic forms of the sea. Looks fab anchoring a tablescape or makes a great focal point in an unused fireplace. Our oversized acrylic sculptures start their journey in our Soho pottery studio, where Jonathan and his team hand-sculpt each model. The piece is then cast in acrylic and polished to perfection.
