Beaded brilliance. Dazzlingly detailed, our art is a truly subversive showpiece. We collaborated with an artisanal workshop in India where a master beader imbued our clean graphic designs with craftsmanship and soul. Each artwork is hand-applied beaded on a linen ground and takes nearly 100 hours to create. Beads of varying heights and patterns within patterns create a sense of depth and dimension. The result is part pop art, part textile triumph.

Michael Evert has sculpted portraits for art and industry in NYC since 1981. In addition to private commissions, he has collaborated with Ralph Pucci on portrait sittings with jazz greats, and, at the Museum of Arts and Design, with luminaries from the worlds of fashion and design. Until recently he sculpted noted fashion models from life for Pucci Mannequin, and interpreted the work of 2D illustrators to produce mannequins and dolls. He continues to work with furniture and lighting designers.

This porcelain sculpture decorated with a compelling combination of white, black, and golden luster is the result of the collaboration between Lladró and Laolu Senbanjo, a Brooklyn-based Nigerian visual artist, musician, human rights lawyer, and activist. Senbanjo's graphic language, which combines influences from the Yoruba culture from Nigeria with a more contemporary treatment, is coupled with the sculptural form to give rise to a singular body of work with the personal stamp of a committed artist. Rendering Senbajo's drawing in porcelain called for outstanding work in two main areas. On one hand, the ornamentation team had to etch each one of the strokes by hand so that they could be recreated in the pieces. On the other, it required the expert hands of the decoration team to carefully paint them in black and golden luster.

Our oiled and polished full kudu skull is mounted on a stainless steel rod and lucite base to showcase the beauty of the symmetrical horns. Due to the use of natural materials, each piece is unique and may vary slightly from the image shown.

A mask of mystical allure, it is traditionally worn by the Lega sorcerer from Congo-Kinshasa (formerly Zaire). According to Lega customs, the sorcerer wears this mask with the sole purpose of healing, consulting the oracle or for initiation rites. Salihu Ibrahim carves the sese wood mask by hand in an oval with a concave heart-shaped face. He paints the piece an off-white shade and treats the mask to appear like an antique piece.

Brain Look is a decorative collector’s item that can easily be affixed to a wall using the stainless steel bracket that is included. This object in the clear glass is designed by Bertil Vallien and is part of the Kosta Boda artist collection. It is cast in a mold at Kosta Glassworks and colored inside with color rods made at the glassworks. The color is revealed through the clear glass, with a pattern of lines representing meandering thoughts. You have seen them before, but they are bigger this time and made to hang on your wall. Beautiful collectibles and something to start to dress your walls with and make your own brainstorming.

Not one to stand in the shadows of her butterflies for brains sister, the new rings and things for brains is made of cast iron with a bronze and gold highlighted finish on a white marble base.

I believe I completed a review of this item already, but I'm pleased with the bust. Similarly to another reviewer, the rings aren't as gold or brassy as they are in the photo. It's too heavy and bulky to pack back up and return, because other than that I like it. In the spirit of never giving up, the Adherence sculpture is an inventive rendering of two human figures counterbalancing their weight while firmly gripping each other. Juju hats originate from the Bamileke people near Cameroon in West Africa. Traditionally worn by village chiefs during important ceremonies, the hat color and size project status and wealth. Each hat is constructed entirely by hand from natural or dyed bird feathers which are carefully hand sewn onto a raffia base using traditional methods. The raffia sticks are arranged into a circle, which expands outward when opened. These sought-after hats are available in various colors. Our 20" diameter hat is presented on a metal display stand for maximum exposure and versatility.
