If this is not possible, follow the steps above, but turn the planter upside down to prevent it from filling with snow and ice. It should then be covered or wrapped with burlap or any absorbent material and then wrapped with dark plastic to prevent it from accumulating moisture.

This fountain is very easy to assemble, producing a steady stream sound that can be heard at distance, but drowned out by moderate traffic noise, and a heavy amount of splash. This fountain has heavy components and may require lifting assistance.

I got the limestone version of this fountain, and it looks absolutely perfect where I have it. It fits the Italian aesthetic of my home and backyard beautifully, and the limestone was definitely the right choice. One thing to be aware of is the sound. The water drops about two feet, so it produces a fairly loud "faucet running" sound. That's inherent in the design, and I'm looking at some simple ways to soften it a bit, possibly with a small rain chain. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with how it looks. I also retrofitted a light into the basin, attaching it to the underside of the upper splash palette with cement adhesive. I ran the light cable out through the rear silicone plug alongside the pump cable, and it worked beautifully. Everything is nicely watertight and the light really adds to the fountain at night. One suggestion if you do something similar: I'd use a little silicone sealant around the cables where they pass through the plug. It's an easy extra precaution to make sure you maintain a watertight seal. My only real complaint is the absolutely insane amount of packing material. I certainly appreciate that the fountain arrived in pristine condition, but the shipping container was probably three times the size of the fountain itself. When it arrived, I actually thought I'd ordered the wrong fountain. It was so enormous that the guys helping me move it were making fun of me for buying such a ridiculously oversized fountain. Opening it up and discovering that it was, in fact, the fountain I'd ordered was a great surprise. Cleaning up afterward was not. There were four wooden pallets, packing hay everywhere, additional concrete packing material, and a mountain of plastic wrap. It took me about half a day to clean everything up, and I eventually had to get a city crew to haul away the remaining packaging. That said, the packing clearly did its job. The fountain arrived in perfect condition, it looks fantastic, and I'd absolutely buy it again. Five stars for the fountain. Maybe three stars for the adventure of unpacking it.. Robert. Oakland, CA. These pots are substantial and beautifully enhance my garden design. I gave one less star because the drainage hole is too small (or perhaps there needs to be more than one for such a large pot?) That being said, we have a lot of rain where I am located, so perhaps it will not be a problem in other areas. The other issue ( major, difficult, and disappointing) was that delivery was not as promised, neither easy or well handled.
