Villa & House (originally Bungalow 5) Dining Chairs

The Philippe side chair is a remarkable fusion of comfort and artistry. Designed with a solid, sturdy frame, it offers both durability and elegance. Intricately carved, multi-layered channels bring a sense of craftsmanship and detail, while the gently tapered legs, ending in a carved sabot, provide a touch of refinement. The octagonal seat back adds geometric interest, while the plush upholstery in a flatwoven fabric, reminiscent of shaved chenille, enhances the chair's inviting appeal. Generous in size and beautifully designed, the Philippe chair makes a striking addition to any room.

Chosen for its deep grain and ethereal texture, the cape lilac Mahogany on our Monaco armchair is a truly special material. A distant cousin to the Alexa chair, Monaco’s shape is derived from ancient Klismos chairs of Greece but also has notes of art deco influence. The slightly flared, hand-carved legs add a touch of elegance and refinement. The curved back is striking from all angles and allows the seat to be nestled nicely under any dining table or desk. Each detail of Monaco is carefully considered. The back is carved by hand for subtle shaping while the basket weave-patterned caning is handwoven in our factories, strand by strand. The linen drop-in seat is easily reupholstered. The result is comfortable without being overly large and perfectly suitable as a desk chair to work from home or dotted around a curved dining table (as it has no trouble with the apron of a desk or table)

Our Hampton Collection interprets lavish Chinoiserie design through the lens of beachy relaxation. The result? Fabulous furnishings which take you away to a Pacific paradise. The limed oak frame of the Hampton Side Chair is carved to resemble bamboo, underscoring the piece’s inherently organic impression. Subtle nods to its Asian inspiration could be found in the elegant fretwork of its back and the slight curves of its front legs. A simple linen drop-in cushion completes its laid-back appeal. A lovely set for the formal dining room of a beach home or modern kitchen in a country cottage.

The Evelyn collection brings Eastern-inspired elegance to life. Our simplified interpretation of Thomas Chippendale's famous chinoiserie design gives our chairs a more relaxed, contemporary feel with a dash of country charm. Created with a lacquered finish, the frame of the Evelyn chair boasts an intricate fretwork back nodding to its Asian inspiration, with a softly rounded top. Gently curved details appear throughout, from the slight dip in the seat to the fluted, tapering legs. A linen drop-in cushion completes the piece, making it a comfortable yet stylish pick for a kitchen or dining room set.

The Sonata chair is a beautifully crafted piece that combines traditional design with lasting durability. Made from rubberwood, it features a sturdy build and graceful details. The rear legs curve gently, while the front legs stand straight with subtly curved backs, creating a harmonious silhouette. With its large-scale, upholstered seat and backrest, this chair offers exceptional comfort and a touch of luxury. The fabric, a refined flatwoven material reminiscent of shaved chenille, adds a soft, inviting texture. The slight angularity at the top of the backrest lends a modern edge to its classic profile.

Our effortlessly cool Jansen chair is thoroughly modern and possesses a pedigree that reaches back to the 18th century. We've taken a classical shape, removed the decorative embellishments popular in the neo-classical period, and stripped it down to classical straight clean lines. Using modern proportions and finishes, we've reimagined it as a 21st-century piece with a 1960s retro appeal, with a back and seat made of bleached cane in a traditional octagonal pattern. Crafted in gorgeous mahogany, the collection comes in Eggshell White, Black, or Driftwood. Bold, stylish, and a little rustic, the Jansen Chair collection makes for a handsome dining set—with armchairs at both ends of a table—in either a modern country cottage or a worldly urban apartment.

Your home should be your oasis, and nothing captures that breezy, beachy element quite like our Aubrey Chair collection. Solid Cape Lilac Mahogany is carved by hand to produce a faux-bamboo display, which, combined with its sandy, limed finish, gives an elegant nod to island living. It is a comfortable caned back and linen-padded seat, however, maintains a high-end feel, making the Aubrey Side Chair an ideal addition (either solo or as a dining set) to a coastal home, rustic cabin, or even an urban space in need of natural touch.

Beautiful chairs. Great for a coastal vibe.. Jenny. Woodstock, GA. Sun Apr 03 2022

Softness and structure are delivered in equal measure in the Odette armchair, a comfortable piece to show off as an accent or use as a set around a dining table. Wrapped in head-to-toe natural linen with a subtle herringbone design, the Odette radiates quiet elegance with a textural nod. The gentle curves and fluffiness of its silhouette are anchored by four rounded legs, capped in bronze. The angled positioning of the two back legs recalls mid-century modern design, giving the piece a retro aesthetic that’s timelessly chic. Curl up with a book or sit back and enjoy a meal with friends and family. No matter where you choose to place the Odette, its cosmopolitan presence is sure to impress.

Beautiful little chair for my vanity. The fabric is a herringbone pattern and more beige than white. I removed a star because they’re quite a few pulls on the fabric, mostly on the leg part so I did not complain to Wayfair. Yes, the legs are covered in fabric as well. Overall, a beautiful design with small details like gold caps on the legs. I love it and can’t wait to use it!. Thyda. St-jean-sur-richelieu, QC. Wed Aug 21 2024

The cerused oak and cane Annette side chair from Bungalow 5 is inspired by traditional French neoclassical design elements of Louis XVI, with hand-carved paterae rosettes and many grooves. Though emulating details of that time, the Annette transcends styles and is an incredibly versatile design. Bungalow 5's signature cerused oak process adds a white contrast to the fine details of a wood's grain, enhancing the beauty and delicate natural patterns of lumber. The cane, after being handwoven together by skilled artisans, is finished to exactly match the cerused oak color, be it natural or gray. The linen seat can be professionally reupholstered. Drawing from romantic, old-world design, the Annette Side Chair is equally appropriate in a coastal Pied-à-Terre, southern home, or a New York City loft.
