This product is accented and defined by the charm of a delicately detailed pair of pewter song birds sweetly singing to each other, one bird perches on a gracefully curved arm, the other on the base. The arms support beveled ring-style bobeches topped by tulip-shaped taper sockets. The base is weighted and cast in a beveled ring design. This candelabra is a graceful addition to any classic décor and will add a bit of romance to any occasion.

The faceted pieces that grace this piece might even be reimagined from older objects, transforming them into neoclassical treasures that merge history and style seamlessly. Historic provenance: The Candleholder Carnier L takes its aesthetic cues from a candlestick (ca. 1775–90) thought to be French and now in the collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Cut and polished chalcedony, a type of quartz, has long been popular in the design of jewelry and precious objects for its perceived apotropaic powers that ward off evil. The faceted pieces of chalcedony in the Neoclassical example that inspired our candleholder were possibly recut from older objects. This highly sophisticated reproduction has been designed in a vintage brass finish.

Sculptural design meets decorative functionality with this 3-piece set of candlestick holders. Each piece is made from metal that gives this set the look of a flea market find. We especially love how the slender, tapered silhouettes and varied heights offer an elevated look. Plus, each piece has a flared base for additional stability. Love the look of these . I used 2 of them to decorate my side board . I will say the base is larger then I thought and I also wish I knew that you can’t use real candles but only battery operated . With an antiqued brass finish, our piece evokes an early 19th-century pair of so-called "Egyptomania" candelabras by Alexis Decaix (British, active 1778–1811) in The Met collection, blending timeless allure with contemporary sophistication. Historic provenance: The Candle Holder Decaix is inspired by an Egyptian-style pair of candelabras designed by Alexis Decaix (British, active 1778–1811) for Goodwood House in southern England between around 1802 and 1806. Referred to as "Egyptomania" candelabras, their design was influenced by Napoleon Bonaparte's North African campaign of 1798. Napoleon was accompanied on his expedition by a team of scholars who recorded their findings, and the resulting publication by Baron Vivant Denon (French, 1747–1825) on the monuments of the Nile Valley had a significant influence on design.
