The collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. “The first time I saw this tree, it literally looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye.”

The Calla Lily collection is inspired by the beauty of the flower. The architectural, curving shape of the flower is strong, yet suggests an intense sensuality. The flower is associated with weddings as is symbolic of purity and innocence. "I was thinking of the romance of weddings and how bouquets often use flowers that carry symbolism. I remembered a picture of a woman I had seen holding her bouquet of calla lilies. She was classic, timeless, and modern all at once. There is something so alluring about the billowy flowers and arching stems which feel contemporary, yet still utterly romantic."

The Orchid collection illuminates the ethereal spirit of the orchid flower. Evocative of purity, delicacy, femininity, and grace, the white metal version offers a strikingly different appeal than its black counterpart. While the sculpture is just as exuberant and detailed, in white, these flowers take on a unique simplicity. There is a sense of lightness, freshness, and even innocence - each petal seemingly untouched and pure.

The Cherry Blossom collection is inspired by the liveliness and vitality of the Japanese flower as it blossoms each Spring. Embodying the ideals of renewal, Michael is captivated by the intricate nature of the flower and the symbolism that it holds. Representing fragility and the beauty of life, the Cherry Blossom collection combines soft, muted pink tones with golden brass and white marble to add a delicacy that exhibits the pure beauty of nature. I have always been fascinated with the Cherry Blossom and its symbolism in the cycle of life. I find the ephemeral beauty of the blossoms and the way they burst into bloom, however fleetingly, truly inspiring.

The Pomegranate collection takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal, as well as fertility and union. "I grew up around pomegranates—from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of freshly squeezed juice. The color, the smell, and the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me."

Packaged very well. Beautiful. Be careful with the ornamental leaf at the base. It was resting on the counter top and slightly scrubbed counter when moved, but will not bend to raise so it won't scrub. Luckily, I did not force. I am sure it would have broken.. Cynthia. Orchids naturally emit a sense of sensuality and seductiveness, but in white nickel, it take on a completely different meaning - an element of brightness that I associate with new beginnings. When I think of white orchids, I imagine the purity and sweetness of a newborn child or a newlywed couple at the beginning of their lifelong journey.

The collection was inspired by the powerful sensuality of orchids and the rich ambiance of haute couture strikingly simple yet full of the most extreme detail. The collection has an almost gothic feeling opiated, lush, and smoldering like the dark, velvety atmosphere of a luxurious evening. "There is something so seductive about orchids. In blackened nickel, they are even more sublime, like a woman wearing a black velvet gown floating through a great estate or a glassy urban high-rise. The dark atmosphere of the orchids against the hammered metal is like the afterglow of a beautiful evening."
