Following his interest in tradition and good food, Virgil Abloh designed Conversational Objects as "toolsets for the dining table". With its garage-inspired design, the Conversational Objects 16-piece cutlery set and cutlery holder are meant to encourage conversation and conviviality at the dining table. This set, produced in matt-finish stainless steel, is paired with a cutlery holder, with a similarly opaque finish to resemble a threaded bolt.

Santiago Dessert Knife in 18/10 stainless steel, mirror polished finish, designed by the English architect. Attention to 'continuity of form' makes the grip appear soft in style yet the overall design is startling, despite its apparent simplicity.

Following the typical minimalist approach that features in all Jasper Morrison's work, this design is an attempt to reduce the "cutlery-object" to its barest essence, its purest and most customary form and what might tentatively be called its definitive form, and deliberately stripped of all stylistic value and - perhaps precisely because of this - recognizable as Morrison's work.

Giro Kids is a set of cutlery consisting of a knife, fork, and spoon. She worked as an interior architect, designer, and design manager in Helsinki, Brisbane, and Milan. She has lived in Italy since 1997 and now works as a designer and advisor.

The product and presented for the first time to the public at the "La Tavola apparecchiata" ("The set table") exhibition at the WW's exhibition space in Neustifgasse 32 in Vienna, this cutlery was produced by hand in silver and silver plate until 1910-12. The service, which was in dotazione anche al Cabaret Fledermaus, fully reflects the search for functionality combined with extreme formal elegance and refined working of materials that are so typical of the Wiener Werkstatt. And if some contemporaries had reservations on the practicality of some of the pieces (the transversal concavity of the tablespoon was a controversial point), these were quickly dispelled by those who actually used them. Made in 18/10 stainless steel, the cutlery was reissued by Alessi in 2000.

I've never purchased new flatware, always had some hand-me-downs which was just fine because it never mattered. But I saw these, loved the look and purchased them.
