"Michael Graves’ kettle is recognized all over the world as an icon of contemporary design, thanks to its mix of pop and postmodern styles. To mark the kettle’s 30th anniversary, Graves has redesigned the whistle, transforming the little bird into a fascinating mythological and futuristic creature: something in between a dragon and a flying dinosaur. The 9091 kettle has a melodic whistle made of brass in a shape that has never been seen before and consists of two small vents in which the tuners that reproduce the notes mi and si are inserted. Richard Sapper created this kettle inspired by a childhood remembrance, the poetic sound of boats' sirens at the River Rhine: This is because the melody that accompanies the vapor outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. This induction kettle is a polysensory object that will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle but with a captivating melody.

The Kitchen Timer is a wonderful classic piece that features many different finish/color options and is made from 18/10 stainless steel and ABS plastic with mechanical movement. It blends especially well with many Alessi coffee makers, cups, creamers, and sugar bowls.

Carlo Alessi was born in Granerolo (Verbania) in 1916, studied technical design at the OMAR institute in Novara, and, at an early age worked in the metal workshop set up by his father, Giovanni, in 1921. From the mid-thirties until the mid-forties, he designed many Alessi works including the “Ottagonale”, “Scalini”, “Cylindrical” and “Bombé'” series. In the fifties, he became managing director of the company bringing with him a new international dimension, and began working with new external designers. He was president of Alessi S.p until 2009 when he passed away.

Born in La Spezia in 1954, Stefano, as an architect and designer, was taught by Buti at Florence University. In the early 1980s, he founded the King-Kong production group along with Guido Venturini. A technical designer par excellence, he has industrial design in his DNA and a capacity to understand public sentiment like no other designer mentioned in this catalog. His projects began with the Girotondo (1989, designed by Guido Venturini) and the first transparent plastic objects from the Family Follows Fiction series (1993). There is a vast number of his items in the Officina Alessi, Alessi, and A di Alessi catalogs.

Philippe Starck's iconic juicer is presented here to the public in its original version. The pepper castor has been in the Alessi catalog since 1978 and belongs to the historical production. I subtracted 1 star because we have to get an 8"x8" (not a common size) napkin in order for it to look good in the tray.
