We love the old fashioned look these knobs add to our knotty alder doors on our new home build. The only thing I can add is you might have to chip out some of the wood (as shown above) for the strike plate to lay flush..if it doesnt you will have issues with the door closing properly.

Stunning doorknob really tied all the the beautiful chrome elements I added to my bathroom together, I was impressed by the weight and craftsmanship in the product.
