Additional Features

• FIGURAL CARVING: Robed figures are cut in low relief across all four faces of this tea jar; the white porcelain glaze pools in each line so the scenes emerge as soft shadow;
• SCULPTURE FIRST: Where painted jars rely on brushwork, this carved jar earns attention through depth; run a hand across it and the relief is genuinely raised, rare in asian decor;
• CUT BEFORE FIRING: Each figure is incised into leather hard clay, then high fired dense; every porcelain jar differs in relief depth, unlike a molded ginger jar reproduction;
• QUIET VERSATILITY: The lidded jar stores tea or keepsakes and dusts clean in seconds; its neutral tone calms chinoiserie decor rooms already crowded with cobalt pattern;
• RELIEF SAFE CLEANING: Work a soft dry brush across the cut figures on this carved jar, then finish with a barely damp cloth; chinoiserie decor shadow lines stay well defined;
