Works great for rice, but is more limited than expected for beans. Tried red beans. Failed both times to fully cook them. So, it's pretty expensive for a rice cooker. Will continue trying to master the beans option. would have bought the larger one, but needed the compact size.

I have tried this three times with farro and pearled barley. I have added the minimum amount of grains per the scale, enough liquid to either be 'regular' or 'soft', and it sets the estimated time to 50 minutes. At 1 hour and 30 minutes it gets stuck on "5 minutes left" and doesn't count down - for over 30 minutes. When I pulled the farro tonight after 1 hour 40 minutes it was still soupy with liquid. What is going on?

Love the Compact Rice and Grain cooker so far. So easy…..foolproof rice of any kind. Haven’t tried grains yet, but I’m sure it will work great for that, too!

Great addition to the kitchen for the set-it-up and forget it prep of rice, grains and beans. All come out perfectly cooked and stay warm until the rest of dinner is complete.

Purchased the rice and grain cooker a few weeks ago. It works great for rice and lentils. However, dried beans are a no-no! I’ve tried several times to cook dried black beans and have ended up putting them in a slow cooker. Today I tried cooking soaked black beans, still no success.
