Wow, love it! My family of 3 has no issues with this in northeast Ohio with it in our partially conditioned basement. In heat pump only mode, and Xtra capacity, we've never had an issue with running out of water and it only uses an average of 3kWh per day! Killer deal with a coupon and Wayfair greet delivery!

Only had it for a few days, but so far so good. Configuring it and setting up the app was easy. I keep it in turtle mode, it's a bit slow recovering that way, but still fast enough for our usage and you can't beat the efficiency.

Install instructions weren't the best and this is WAY heavier than a regular 50 gal tank. I needed a floor jack and some extra hands to help me get this on its stand. Setup was pretty painless and it was surprisingly louder than I was expecting, the heat pump makes the regular buzzing and shaking etc. so far it's heating my water and using MUCH less kwh than my previous unit. It's also nice to have it "air conditioning" my garage

I had done a lot of research on Hybrid hot water tanks and the GE was the most efficient and had the highest customer satisfaction. It shipped and arrived within a week. I haven't installed it yet, since they are installing drywall on a new house I'm build. I'll will update later. Price is the only reason it's not 5 stars.

I came from the 1st gen GE heat pump water heater (the current ones in 2025/2026 are 4th gen). My first one lasted about 15 years, and then the heat pump part died. It was still working as fully electric, but I wanted to get back to energy savings. Replaced with another GE as the reviews I'm seeing on the brands that the "big box" home stores are terrible. I've only had the new unit installed for less than a month, but it's doing well. I like the flex capacity to extend the 50 gallon tank, but it still doesn't quite keep up with my family of 4 all getting showers back to back when it's on the most energy savings mode (turtle). The app allows you to set a schedule, so during my high demand times, I have it set to heat pump + electric mode (rabbit), and then drop back down to turtle the rest of the day. It seems that the mixing valve of the flex capacity system has some weirdness to it when the heat level drops - the temp in the shower isn't consistent and my wife has to fiddle with the shower temp to keep comfortable - I can feel the difference, but it doesn't bother me as much as it does her.
