The Frieling nutmeg mill is very high quality, with a nice, heavy feel. It grates easily and quickly. The mill produces very fine shavings as opposed to a finely ground powder; I used it on eggnog and the consistency and mouth feel of the shavings were not a problem. The aroma of freshly grated nutmeg versus pre-ground is wonderful and worth the extra cost and effort.
