The pansy design on these placemats is what caught my eye. The colors are surprisingly neutral and would complement almost any decor. I also bought the matching napkins and table runner. The set looks great with my plain off-white dinnerware. It gives my table a French country feeling with a modern twist. The only negative, for me, is that I wish the background color was more blue than gray. The color is shown pretty accurately in the online photos.
