I think this was not a good quality piece - one leg had already split up 13 out of 16 inches. I tried calling Aquateak, as insert asked. They sent me to Perigold who makes it so difficult to return - I couldn't get the thing back in the box, you need to upload pictures (suppose reasonable), fill out forms, that we finally just said "forget it, let's just put together". I definitely do not recommend this stool and will probably never like it.
