The Michael Aram Pomegranate collection takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union. I grew up around Pomegranate-from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of fresh-squeezed Pomegranate juice. The color, the smell, and the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me.

The texture of Hammertone is an ancient surface treatment for metal that is achieved through the painstaking application of hammer marks, one by one, to shape the metal into various forms. The resulting surface texture is vibrant, faceted, and as contemporary as it is timeless. "While the immediate narrative in this motif is not as obvious as most of my work, it has just as much meaning. This texture speaks to me of everything I love about Indian hand craftsmanship... rich with the presence of the maker's hand, complex and beautiful, and highly symbolic of human endeavor."

It is about the transformation of "industrial" to "beautiful", "technical" to "lyrical". The collection also strives to represent the clean lines and minimal atmosphere associated with the ideals of contemporary life and progressive design. Intricately hand-welded edges make each piece an individual work of art, with no two pieces being identical. The Palm collection is inspired by the beauty of a windswept Palm tree and the perfectly imperfect shapes of woven Palm leaves and fallen fronds. "I was having lunch with friends on a veranda overlooking the sea when I looked down to the lawn and saw a fallen Palm frond. The leaves were all twisted and curled, yet they stood out magnificently against the otherwise perfect landscape. It made me think of the passage of time, and the bountiful gifts of the Palm tree, which provides everything from food to shelter."

We obsessed over every detail, from determining the correct volume of the cup (derived from the shulchan aruch, which specifies that a kiddush cup must hold at least a revi'It - 3-5 ounces - ours is over 6), to the precise diameter of the plate beneath, so no wine spills on the table.

Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, designer, writer, and educator. He designed more than 1,000 structures in a lifetime and played a vital role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century. The Beth Sholom synagogue is Wright's only synagogue among a relatively small number of religious Commissions and still has an active congregation. Its power as a building stemmed from the fruitful collaboration between Wright and the congregation rabbi, Mortimer J. Cohen, and is symbolically and liturgically grounded in Judaic tradition. The synagogue glass pyramid is an unforgettable presence in the suburban Philadelphia landscape, day and night. The synagogue is open for tours. Beth Sholom was listed as a national historic landmark in 2007. A portion of Sholom's royalties from the sale of Beth Sholom merchandise will go directly to support the ongoing preservation of this national treasure.

The Twist collection is inspired by the idea that the whole can be far greater than the sum of its parts. When elements are combined, they take on another feeling, greatness. Together, they are strong, but also I would argue, more beautiful. When lines are repeated, or wires are woven, there is a loveliness to the pattern that fascinates and pleases. Asymmetry is created that is calming and classical. "I often explore materials and create collections that are craft-based. The Twist was created while experimenting with intertwining wires. There is a fluidity and movement to the twists that I love. The twisted wires suggest a coming together of things that I find poetic."

Multi-arc design Hanukkah Menorah in tarnish-free nickel plate sits on 2 rectangle feet can take standard size taper candles and comes with candle cups to use traditional Hanukkah candles as a second option.

Chanukah was over for this season before I placed my order, so I have not used my menorah yet. However, I did take it out of the box and found that it is as beautiful as its picture suggested. There is such power in narrative images for me. There is a feeling that we're creating an entire imaginary world, building designs around interactive themes that are familiar to all of us. The shapes are obvious and immediate and, at the same time, the impressionistic and lyrical way a small child might imagine the scenes in a story he's being told. The image of the Tree of Life is one of my favorites. It is an idea that is so widely expressed in all cultures and by all religions that it becomes a universal symbol of hope.

The Butterfly Ginkgo collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo," which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels.
