The Steelcase series 2 chair has technology featuring an innovative geometric design that flexes in two dimensions, supporting each part of your spine for responsive, personalized comfort and fit. The tilt mechanism is synchronized; the seat and back work in harmony with each other, keeping the body securely supported in the chair and feet firmly planted on the floor so you can recline without leaving your optimal zone for seeing and reaching your work. This model includes an adjustable seat depth, fully adjustable arms (raise up and down, pivot in and out, shift forward and back and side to side), adjustable headrest, adjustable lumbar, pneumatic seat height adjustment, recline tension adjustment, flexing back with mesh upholstery, and upholstered seat. The seat features strong yet pliable foam which conforms to the body and creates pressure-free comfort. Flexible seat edge offers a bit of bend, right where you need it – relieving pressure points under your thighs. This chair will arrive unassembled and require some assembly covered by Steelcase warranty.

This is the first furniture design ever to be Cradle to Cradle Bronze® certified — the most rigorous environmental standard for products that can be fully reused after their first life. It’s also GREENGUARD Gold® certified and independently tested to be free from over 10,000 chemicals to help contribute to cleaner air in your home. Zody is upholstered in our exclusive Hobson fabric, made from 80% ocean-bound plastic and recycled polyester. Each yard diverts 33 plastic bottles from entering our oceans.

The Karman line is where the earth’s atmosphere meets space, weightlessness becomes possible and where going beyond becomes a reality. That spirit and feeling are captured in Steelcase karman. Beyond comfort. Steelcase Karman goes beyond other mesh chairs by delivering comfort in an entirely new way. When you sit in this chair, it follows you and moves with you, intuitively responding to your body while providing effortless comfort. Beyond mesh. Steelcase Karman's proprietary performance textile, intermix, creates the just-right support in the seat and back, for all shapes and sizes. I spend a lot of time on my computer editing photographs and this chair is a comfy, good posture reminder. Only negative is that the "freedom component" for the backrest doesn't work for me (pushes against me) as I am a 125 lb. weakling. Hahah. Have this chair at work (with headrest) so ordered for my office at home now we’re working from home more. It’s very sturdy and comfortable. Good lumbar support which was the primary reason I spent the money - I knew what I was getting for the price. Noticed an immediate difference with my sciatic pain. Assembly is very easy - no tools just attach the base to the seat. The thing I like about this chair is you can lean and the arms lean with you. Also the arms are adjustable.. Sandy. Aurora, IL.
