Ardmore designers have given us two signature limited edition sofas with the launch of our Sabie fabric collection 2020, which come 30 in Tanzanite and 30 in Delta, both in rich and sensual velvet. The high backs allow for two to sit amongst dancing elephants juggling a vervet monkey, flanked by travelers riding a giraffe and ostrich. Our feet and behinds cool off in the Sabie river waters where hippos and crocs play amongst water lilies and a python coils in the right-hand corner under one’s arm. In the shadows of the plants, at the back of the sofa, emerges the elusive King cheetah with his rare spots and stripes. The sofa's border base and arms are framed with Zulu beaded striped - liked pattern, so often seen in the bases of Ardmore Ceramic works. These sofas transport us into a magical animal and botanical fantasy and we consider them to be appreciated as Artwork.

Every Ardmore creation is made with love, and our limited-edition Thanda sofa is no exception to this rule. The matt black linen fabric and Pangolin Park design combine to create a unique statement piece, which combines contemporary French styling and African design elements. Only 40 examples of this remarkable piece of furniture will be made, making it a collector's item as rare as true love itself. Inspired by the works of Ardmore Ceramic Art, the various elements were curated and laid out by our design team and then hand-painted by Ardmore artist Sidney Nyabeze.
