The artless ars xl table is an updated and expanded version of our ars base. This chunkier base is ideally suited for our ars 36”, 42”, and 48” diameter solid wood tops. The proportions of the base give the table some heft and appeal, which we did not anticipate when designing it. We are quite smitten by this design.

48-inch round-to-oval pedestal table seating 2 to 4 people. The table opens to a 66-inch oval with an 18-inch self-storing butterfly leaf. It features a flame mahogany pie-cut tabletop with fine pinstriping detail. The table rests on an overbuilt, steel-reinforced saber-leg pedestal with solid brass levelers for stability. The self-storing butterfly leaf opens and slides smoothly into place. A video demonstrating the leaf mechanism is available in the right margin of this product page. The finish is a hand-polished, traditional nitrocellulose lacquer that is razor thin and reflective of classic French polish techniques.

Baton takes its inspiration from the endless flow of the infinity symbol. It is conceived of identical segments, each one resting on the next to produce impressive rigidity within a delicate, modern aesthetic. When assembled, Baton’s innovative base forms a seamless ring of support with no clear beginning or end.
