This is lighter grey than looks online. It is has a rough feeling, more rustic. I had a hard time seeing the top and had to go to another website to try to see it but that wasn't even an accurate representation. It is actually a lighter wood color with black or dark brown ridges. It is not smooth and almost two tone. It seems sturdy and well made, but it is tall so verify measurements. I was looking for something that was narrow and tall and wasn't too overpowering so this fit the bill. Took forever to get it, but overall happy with my purchase. Hope the pictures help.
