These beds exceeded my expectations which were high to begin with. Very sturdy and lovely in person. The rope trim is tightly woven securely inside the bed frame without any sagging or flimsy stick on fake decor. The specs call for a low profile box spring and suggests bunkie boards however bunkie boards will NOT work on account of the bed slat positions. Bunkie boards fall through the gaps and offer zero support. Three inch solid low profile box springs work perfectly…. (a cut to size piece of plywood would also work). Ten inch mattress along with a three inch box spring brings the bed to a normal height.
