I'm giving this nightstand 3 stars because the piece is actually beautiful; however, the Bordeaux color is VERY different from the color depicted in the two catalog photos. IRL, there is no visible wood grain and the color is very dark, a solid dark brown rather than the varying shades (sometimes called honey, cognac, etc. in stain color listings) that are shown in most of this collection’s Bordeaux representations. To see the most accurate depiction, check out the 4th photo for the larger nightstand.
Some notes about the White Glove delivery service: It was absolutely necessary to use this service because the furniture I ordered (2 Petite Sarah nightstands and 1 Bordeaux dresser) was extremely heavy and the veneer relatively delicate. A small piece of the veneer (about 1-2 inches in height) at the bottom of one of the nightstand legs was cracked and separating, even with seemingly excellent care being taken.
Arranging the delivery itself was quite a challenge. After someone from the Perigold-Wayfair "Concierge Team" was assigned to the delivery -- in a NYC building with typically stringent CO-OP rules – communication became smoother; however, some complications remained, thanks mostly to those rules and to the lack of direct access to the delivery company. The delivery people themselves seemed very professional, but I’m guessing that their company is responsible for the communication barrier. Ultimately, the furniture was delivered on the second try. I spoke with several staff members in Perigold-Wayfair Concierge Department during this process, and they were all generally attentive, conscientious, and polite.
