Very disappointed with Wayfair. This $2,500 desk came out of the shipper's box with one end broken, as shown in the photos. The damage was noted immediately by the delivery company, which nonetheless refused to take the desk back, suggesting only that I call Wayfair about an adjustment. What followed was three days of runaround, mostly from Wayfair bots, who told me that any adjustment would have to be made by the manufacturer. When the manufacturer refused to contact me, I committed an entire morning to working through the Wayfair Customer No Service telephone jungle. I finally reached a person who wanted to help but she was unable to do anything on her own, unless I boxed up this 60 x 30 x 32 item and shipped it back. The company simply refused to send a freighting company to do the job even though their delivery guy kept the shipping box. What next ensued was a negotiation with her unseen suprvisor about the maximum discount Wayfair would allow if I kept the desk. The discount ended up being significant but still not enough to compensate me for the damage. i accepted it only because I felt that I was out of options. My advice to Wayfair customers is not to spend significant money on the Wayfair site. This is the third furniture shipment I have received from them in the last ten months with the item seriously damaged. In this case, I had no practical choice exceot to take a badly damaged piece of furniture. I am very unsatisfied with Wayfair and this $2,500 item, irrespective of the discount. No more big ticket purchases on Wayfair for me.
