A wonderful low chest adapted from a Katana Tansu original from the late 17th century. A katana is a Japanese samurai sword and a tansu is a storage chest for the long saber styled swords. Our modernized design has authentic corner brackets called herikanagu and a rectangular oak top over two ample drawers mounted with sturdy brass bar pulls over a metal base with tapered corner posts. Furniture and upholstery appearances can vary and are not guaranteed due to the inherent variation of all natural materials, including wood color, wood grain, leather, and stone material and finish.
