The wood was nothing like the online photo, which showed smooth wood with contemporary lines. I would not describe the wood as "distressed", but instead, filled with deep holes. It looked like it was made from a leftover piece of damaged wood that should have been discarded. The good news is that the return process was very easy and Perigold gave me a complete refund. When I mentioned how heavy this stool is to try to return it, they offered a pick-up at my home at no cost to me.

I love it so much! It's unique and perfect for my small entryway. It is a very heavy solid piece that is extremely well made. It is made from reclaimed wood from various sources, and it is gorgeous. You can tell the artisans paid particular attention to where the knots and wood grains go on this piece. Some reviews called it too rustic, but I do not agree. It is also super comfortable! Perfect spot to taking shoes on and off. The price at Perigold is also amazing! Thank you!

It’s a bit smaller than I expected.

It has big knots in the wood on the seat it is the 2nd one I had to send first one back, it needs to look great on the top like it does on the sides

I actually ordered the bench version of this piece. I love it. It is better in real life than it appeared in the photos, and is incredibly heavy and sturdy. I’m truly delighted with it.
