Beautiful piece! I waited patiently for a restock and it was so worth the wait. Arrived in perfect condition. Very satisfied with my order.

Unfortunately the piece arrived damaged. It is shipped assembled and the shelves are not well secured so the piece was a little beaten up when we opened the box. The shipping box also was damaged so there were spots on the body of the piece that were dimpled as well. We received a discount after we sent Perigold photos of the damage, which will enable us to have the piece repaired rather than sending it back. We can see that it is otherwise a really nice bookcase.

Exactly what I wanted! Perfect in structure, perfect in craftsmanship, perfect in expectation.

The bookcase was delivered with a gouge and a discoloration along one corner. The delivery crew noted the problem and I was soon contacted by customer service, and given the option of a partial credit or an on-site repair. I chose the credit. As to the bookcase itself; solid, straightforward design with tasteful joining and solid hardwood surfaces. There is a polyeurathane finish, which while practical, diminishes the overall esthetic of the piece. A open waxed finish ala Room & Board would have been preferred. This is the first piece of furniture I've bought online without sampling in person, and I'm picky. The shelves are a plywood veneer, nice veneer but not solid wood. Practical. It is the perfect size for our entry way/living room but there is an institutional feel to the piece. I'm sure it will look good (with my own repair to the damages spots) for years, and it holds a lot of books. I'd give it 5 stars except for the damage and the plasticy finish.
