This piece is beautiful and solid and sturdy. However, it also REEKS of formaldehyde or whatever other fire resisting chemicals they treated it with. It was delivered on May 29, and we have kept the doors and drawers open, and placed the contents of nine baking soda boxes in low trays to try to catch the smell. It is almost two weeks later and the smell is as strong as ever. As perfect as this was for what we were looking for, we will be returning it. I can't, in good faith, store food or items my family will eat from in this cabinet.

Dust lightly using a soft cloth with the grain of the wood. To remove small stains or embedded dirt, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Oil stains can be removed using a damp cloth with a mixture of lukewarm water and Murphy's soap. Dry the part thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth. To avoid scratches, you should blot rather than wipe up spilled liquids. Apply adhesive felt pads to lamps and similar items before placing them on tables. When serving hot food, always use placemats under plates and hot trivets under serving containers. Do not put synthetic materials, rubber or plastic over the wood finish, as they may contain chemicals that could damage the finish. Do not leave newspapers or magazines on the wood, as ink may bleed onto the finish and into the wood. Overexposure to sunlight can harm wood finishes, causing cracking and bleaching that is difficult and expensive to repair. Solid wood furniture is subject to changes in humidity. It contracts in a dry environment and expands in a humid environment. These changes do not affect the structural integrity of the part and cannot be corrected. It is recommended to maintain good humidity during the winter months.
