• UL 1-Hour class 350 Fire Rating, products undergo exhaustive testing procedures passing both fire and explosion hazard tests conducted by Underwriters Laboratories, which expose the file to temperatures of 1700 degrees for one hour resulting in the internal temperature not exceeding 350 degrees.
• Drawers are built with high sides for use with hanging folders – no additional frames are required.
• One key lock on drawer 1 to control drawers 1 and 2 and a key lock on drawer 3 to control drawers 3 and 4.
• Each drawer is individually protected from fire with insulation between all drawers. This design makes each drawer a separate insulated container.
• Oven-dried Gypsum Insulation. FireKing offers asbestos-free, dry insulation. Unlike wet insulation, dry insulation will maintain protection properties for a lifetime and completely eliminate corrosion.
• The Patriot will withstand a 1700-degree fire for a minimum of one hour protecting stored documents. Protecting against the heat is half the battle, fires very commonly result in building or structural collapse – an impact-rated file must be able to withstand a fall from multiple stories. For a UL-listed safe to be labeled “Impact Rated,” it is heated to 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit in a furnace, raised three stories, dropped onto a pile of bricks, and then returned to the furnace and reheated. In order to meet the listing requirement, temperatures inside can't have risen above 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and sample papers left inside must be readable.
