These later 19th-century antique cabinets were retrieved from Gansu province, a province in north-central China famous for its hanging Great Wall. This Gansu cabinet was used to store the bedding and linen. It has 3 compartments. The painting on three panels of this cabinet demonstrates the artisan’s commanding skill of shui-mo, "water and ink") also loosely termed watercolor or brush painting. With red square frames, three panels are transformed into 3 beautiful traditional Chinese mountain & water paintings. 3 compartments can be accessed either from the doors or the top.
