We often like to transform furniture by combining mixed materials, or changing a finish from what would have been characteristic of its original design period. This piece reimagines a great, chunky, 1970s faceted Lucite coffee table that we found in London with a beautiful, formal book and butt-matched mahogany veneer tabletop, set into the bold, clear base. For purists, the table is also available with a glass top to create a floating, transparent effect.
