Buying a $1000 item online to put in your formal living room is risky. Luckily, this item matches its description and met my expectations with regard to quality and finish -- which is not too brassy, and not too dull. The shagreen shelf is also nice, though I would have preferred a version of the table that offered a glass shelf instead.
