My walls are long and my ceilings are high. The scale of this is perfect and the piece is stylish. In part, I chose it for the slightly curved front edge that makes it less "boxy". My only gripe is (I am a details person) that the inserts provided to cover the hardware holes are black plastic. I don't mind them being plastic, just can't imagine why they'd choose black on a piece with no black. In truth I don't "see" them any longer, but they popped like an eyesore to me at first. (They go on the inside of the uprights)
