Pre assembled, so it made it real easy to slide into place. It is wood on top of a steel painted frame, so be careful of your floors. Looks great, functions well also.

Great piece! I was slightly disspionted that you cant adjust the shelves (I was planning to use it to store my liquor/wine) but it is VERY solid and well-built.
