We bought this same chair 37 years ago for $1000. We loved that chair! After 37 years, some of the leather was cracked and worn through and the springs had been replaced multiple times. The new chair is almost the same except the back is pieced whereas the original had one solid piece of leather covering the back. I thought I would really hate the look of the pieced back but it is trimmed so it looks nice. The leather on the older chair seemed nicer quality. It was smoother and had more of a sheen than the current one. Only time will tell in how well it wears. The stuffing in the middle back cushion was too full so we replaced it with the stuffing from the older chair. There is a zipper on the back of it that makes it easy to remove. I imagine over time it would flatten out but it really pushes you forward, almost off the chair; that's how overstuffed it is. If we didn't have the old chair to swap out the cushion, I probably would have opened up the pillow and removed some of the stuffing.

This chair replaced a 20 year old Chippendale chair from your manufacturer. It appears to be made with the same quality as the chair I replaced. The leather is beautiful and it feels sound and solid.
