Oversized Traditional Bar & Cocktail Glasses

Handmade one at a time by artisans using century-old pressed glass techniques. The first known reference to these glasses known as “small spikes” is from Portugal going back to 1901. It is fascinating how a century-old design remains to this day so fashionable.

The green grape design embodies abundance and the ceaseless cycle of life. Rich green LIULI forms encircling vines and full clusters of ripe grapes carved in high relief so that fingertips can trace the texture as the glass turns. The subtly inward curved rim concentrates the wine’s bouquet while the relief pattern reminds the drinker that blessings string together like thriving generations. While the amber loquat embodies continuous blessings by tracing the fruit’s journey through all four seasons budding in autumn flowering in winter fruiting in spring and ripening in summer. Rendered in warm golden LIULI each branch curves around the glass dotted with droplets of crystal light that appear to suspend like morning dew. Embossed loquats and leaves encircle the vessel so that each plump fruit can be admired by touch and every glance becomes a reminder of abundance flowing in unbroken succession. The base of the glass features a pumpkin-shaped stem, symbolizing quiet strength and transformation. Its many facets catch and reflect light, adding visual warmth while evoking the slow ripening of a pumpkin—a metaphor for the beauty that comes with time and patience. Rooted in nature, this design grounds the glass with a sense of balance and seasonal abundance, aligning with the theme of savoring life’s moments mindfully.

Highball Blue Ming. The complement to the porcelain line created by the Dutch designer for Vista Alegre uses corrugation, an old decoration technique that creates distinctive creases inside the glass.
