Maria gets a new look. For the first time in its more than 100-year history, Rosenthal's successful collection is now available in a contemporary version called "Maria en Vogue" with colored glazes. The delicate pastel colors emphasize the romantic vintage touch of the shape. The triumph of the "Maria" shape began in 1916. The service was named after the wife of the company founder Philipp Rosenthal, who married 35-year-younger Maria in 1916. "Maria" stands for porcelain history and table culture. Presumably created as a replica of a silver tea service, this polygonal dinnerware shape with the characteristic edge relief in the form of a fruit garland became the most extensive Rosenthal service. In 1939, there were already more than 170 different items, from bone dishes to knife banks and decorative corks. Even today, more than 70 different individual pieces are available. Some love stories are so beautiful that they are hard to believe. Like the one between Philipp Rosenthal and his wife Maria. It so happens that the privy councilor was so infatuated with her that he quickly named a porcelain set after her – without knowing that it would one day become a best-seller, selling millions of copies. To this day Maria remains one of the most extensive tableware collections with around 100 pieces. Its classic form and the elegant fruit relief around the rim make it a stand-out collection. "Maria" is a classic service that has already become a legend. For generations, it was the porcelain of choice at weddings and other celebrations. The model for its characteristic shape was a silver teapot dating back to around 1815, which company founder Philipp Rosenthal brought back from England and had remade in porcelain in honor of his wife, the French Countess Maria de Bourges. Timelessly beautiful and gracious - the Rosenthal classic Maria from 1916 is still a dazzling style icon in 2023. This cup taking inspiration from the natural materials of sand, clay, and water. The shapes are soft and inviting with pleasantly rounded edges and a slightly rough surface in some areas and glazed in others. Stoneware is defined as a group of ceramic products and is used to produce plates, dishes, cachepots, and bowls, molded at very high temperatures using special casting techniques. The high temperature during the firing process ensures stoneware is more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. The colors, shapes, appearance of the glaze as well as the overall look depending on the firing temperature and time and may vary slightly from piece to piece each piece is unique and may show individual structures and shades.

Coffee Cup with Saucer II Bode Inspiratório. In March 2020, faced with confinement that was unheard of, we had to look at the world in a different way. In this profound slowdown, we also had to face ourselves. Creativity was then, as it still is, the best way to process and express this strange change. And so the project “Escape Goat” was born. Accepting the challenge launched by the journalist Ana Margarida de Carvalho, 46 authors wrote 46 chapters of a digital book, published online, and 46 visual artists illustrated them, all over the course of… 46 days. Such images have now been reproduced in an original collection of Vista Alegre porcelain coffee cups. With imagination, humor, and sensitivity, the written and drawn stories of “Escape Goat” look into us and into everyone's world, suddenly turned upside down. With this goat, we hope to kick sadness to the curb, and awake joy, inside and outside our windows.

The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company is owned by one of the world's most respected ceramic brands, Steelite International, which has its headquarters in the English 'Potteries'. It employs 200 skilled craftspeople and manufactures the highest quality English Fine Bone China at its factory on a four and a half-acre site at Osmaston Road, in Derby, England. The Company produces bone china tableware, giftware, and collectibles. The Company also runs a popular Visitor Centre at Osmaston Road, providing factory tours, museum, factory shop and restaurant. The present factory was established in 1878 but the business traces its origins to the original factory which was set up in Nottingham Road in about 1750. Queen Victoria granted permission to include the title "Royal" in the company name in 1890.
