I received these four Green Heritage Italian mugs through Wayfair in perfect condition. The design on the outside of the mug goes all the way around without leaving a white stripe for the handle. The handle has a bit of design on the outside as well, adding a bit of attention to detail that is characteristic of Spode pieces. The manufacturing process is quality in that all four mugs are identical none are misaligned or missing part of the transfer pattern. I will be happy to serve my guests in these mugs.. Cheryl. These cups and saucers are the ideal English teacup set. They are perfect in detail and true to the original design that was Blue Italian by Spode. Yes, these are made in England, unlike most of the Blue Italian pieces, now made in China. I initially ordered just one teacup in this size directly from Spode to determine whether I would truly like them as. much as my Blue Italian set that I purchased years ago. I decided to order them once I received the initial cup, and saw that Wayfair offered a set of four cups and saucers in the 7 oz size for just about twice what I had paid for one cup and saucer from the manufacturer. Deal! Then I noticed that Wayfair also offered a set of four identical cups and saucers in the 10 oz size. I finally decided to return the 7 oz set of four in exchange for the 10 oz size since they were essentially the same price from Wayfair, and I imagined they would be more appreciated by my American friends for their larger size. I did keep the single 7 oz teacup to use myself, plus the set of four larger 10 oz teacups for sharing. Please see my photos for their comparison in size. In case you may be thinking of gifting these beauties, each set of one cup and saucer comes in its own Spode-labeled box. I have since purchased other pieces from this same line from Wayfair; all are made in England, and most arrived in perfect condition. COSTA NOVA was born in a small Portuguese fishing village, near the Atlantic Ocean. Nowadays, carrying Portugal's name and heritage all over the world COSTA NOVA is present across the 5 continents, in prestigious department stores and boutiques, hotels and renowned restaurants. Using the best natural resources in Portugal, COSTA NOVA products are made in a single firing system heated up to 1180 degrees C (2160 degrees F) which creates a unique ceramic body with a special bonding between the clay and the glazed surface. This original formula explains why our stoneware is so durable and resistant to both thermal and mechanical shocks. In addiction, our team of designers, technicians, modelers and craftsmen are constantly developing original shapes and colors, all the way to truly unique designed and handcrafted pieces.
