Chip Resistant Country / Farmhouse Dinner Bowls

The Olive Branch collection is one of the best-known and most loved of Michael's motifs. The simple forms create objects that serve wonderfully as stunning individual gifts or an exuberant table setting that decorates an entire moment of your life. The theme itself captures all the most distinctive aspects of Michael's work - narrative strength, deep symbolism, and extraordinary sculptural expression. The olive branch has always held a powerful meaning for me representing both peace and victory. In designing functional objects with natural forms, there is a mingled sense of fragility and intensity. For me, it is like nature spreading through my interior spaces - like a magical olive grove sweetly willing its way into my home.

The Butterfly Ginkgo collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of Indian craft and capture the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. "The first time I saw this tree, it looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye."

From the Forest Walk collection: Long walks on leafy paths make for magical moments and big appetites - low and broad, with a scattering of feathers and flora, this abundant bowl is perfect for slow Sunday stews, and hearty pastas and salads.

With sturdy handles, this piece is an excellent choice for serving warm soups or stews. Swiss textile designer Regula Stüdli takes us on a walk through the lush herb garden. The new floral decor of Grand Air is as light and fresh as a natural experience in the fresh air. As if blown by the wind and combined by nature into a multicolored flower ensemble, spicy herbs, and edible blossoms arranged in small bunches, scattered loosely or arranged in circles to form ornaments, float freely over the Brillance form and merge with it to form a sensual whole. The almost transparent porcelain body underlines the elegance and lightness of the graceful floral decor. Fragrant herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and lavender, bright meadow flowers such as nasturtium and marigold combined with the filigree beauty of cosmea, come together with other edible wildflowers such as cornflower, pansies and daisies in the picturesque flowerbed. Slightly poisonous flowers used as medicines glow a delicate pink. Service plates and bread plates in soft sage green provide freshness and tranquillity and contrast with the white bone china. Grand Air is a delightful play with nature and a feast for all the senses.

When spring is in the air (or on your mind) these fresh-as-daisies bowls will be on the table.

These bowls are beautiful. The design attracted me and they arrived as I expected them to look. That they are stoneware gives me some confidence that they will, in fact, hold up to the dishwasher - as claimed. It’s too soon to report on that. I’ve been a Lenox fan for 50 years - since my mother started collected my first Lenox collection (Autumn) to gift me at my marriage. So I do truly love their designs and quality. I’ve been disappointed more recently when a set of bowls and a set of plates (both Kate Spade designs) that claimed to be dishwasher safe clearly were not. The gold trim and artistic designs faded away. I should have requested refunds or replacement, but never did. Other than these disappointments, Lenox is my true first love of dishes. I’m hoping for a more trusty result with the Wildflowers stoneware.. Madqueen. Sat Aug 16 2025

This salad bowl forms part of Villeroy & Boch's country-style pattern Audun Ferme. With this pattern, Villeroy & Boch exquisitely bridges past, present, and future inspired by copper-engraved designs from the turn of the last century. Pastoral scenes in black and white have been freshened up by a creamy yellow accent border and other graphic ornamentations. 4 Patterns together yield a strong fashion statement to dress up your table or hang decorative plates on the wall. The 4 ranges are: Femme, Promenade, Fleur and Chase. Audun is a small village in what is now the Lorraine Provence of France and was the first pottery set up by the Boch members of the family.
