Beloved for its sophisticated simplicity, versatility, and durability, Lastra is our bestselling collection. The understated elegance, clean lines, and unique shape of the Lastra small-handled bowl make it a timeless piece for your kitchen and table. With sturdy handles, this piece is an excellent choice for serving warm soups or stews. Lastra's design was inspired by the circular wooden slabs used for centuries to create the outer mold in cheesemaking throughout Italy. When fashioned together with twine, the hoop was left with a slight overlap to help maintain the shape of the cheese mold. Maestro molder Stefano Roselli incorporates the overlapping detail into the entire design, from its foot to its rim. A dark dusting on the edges of each piece suggests the ash that was used to preserve these cheeses and highlights each unique silhouette. The rustic yet chic shape of the Lastra Small Handled Bowl looks clean and sophisticated on your table.

Bowl is functional for every occasion. Beautifully shaped yet humble enough to act as a discreet backdrop to the perfectly arranged meal. Start setting the table with your own unique color combinations. Stacks beautifully for in-cabinet storage. Outside of the product is matte. The inside serving area is glazed for design compliments and easy cleaning. The product is molded at very high temperatures using casting techniques. The high temperatures during the firing process make the product more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. Due to the heating and glazing processes, these pieces may have slightly different attributes that can add to their beauty and uniqueness.

Love the bowls but a bit smaller than I thought.. Karen. Ottawa, ON. Sun Nov 22 2020
