Animal Stackable Mugs & Teacups

Blending Kit Kemp's love of craft and simple folk art in a fun and lyrical way, Sailor's Farewell tells the story of a sailor's loved-one waving goodbye on a rock with her scarf flying in the wind. As she waves goodbye, the motifs around china show the sailor's adventures on the high seas both above and below the waterline. The delicate pale blue linen finish of the original fabric inspiration is discernible on the tableware and finished with a stronger blue and gold line around the rim. The Kit Kemp Sailor's Farewell espresso cup shows the sailor's ship with rust-red sails and the enticing sight of a house under a palm tree on a faraway desert island, while the espresso cup saucer presents a curious octopus under the sea. Beautifully presented in Wedgwood's signature blue gift box, crafted in fine bone china and finished with 22-karat gold.

Kit Kemp has worked alongside iconic British company Wedgwood to create a beautiful collection of specially designed china called Mythical Creatures. Her design was based upon a collection of embroidered fabrics produced for Chelsea Textiles and has been applied to Bone China creating a unique illustrative style. The Kit is often influenced by a sense of the whimsical and the lyrical, as well as a love of animals. Hence the collection features a series of characters and patterns that have a primitive, folkloric feel.

Coffee Cup with Saucer XXXII Bode Inspiratório. In March 2020, faced with confinement that was unheard of, we had to look at the world in a different way. In this profound slowdown, we also had to face ourselves. Creativity was then, as it still is, the best way to process and express this strange change. And so the project “Escape Goat” was born. Accepting the challenge launched by the journalist Ana Margarida de Carvalho, 46 authors wrote 46 chapters of a digital book, published online, and 46 visual artists illustrated them, all over the course of… 46 days. Such images have now been reproduced in an original collection of Vista Alegre porcelain coffee cups. With imagination, humor, and sensitivity, the written and drawn stories of “Escape Goat” look into us and into everyone's world, suddenly turned upside down. With this goat, we hope to kick sadness to the curb, and awake joy, inside and outside our windows.
