You won't have to ask who cut the cheese if you have this knife in your kitchen because just about everyone will want to give it a try. Is this knife necessary if you want to serve cheese? No. Even people with a modest selection of kitchen tools should have a knife that will work to cut cheese. But if you entertain a lot it is nice to have the right tool for the job And I believe that the tactile experience of using a nice knife improves the dining experience. It's sort of like getting up and making your bed in the morning. You don't have to do that, but it sure is nice getting into a bed that is neatly made instead of a jumble of tangled blankets.
